Girls:

Grades	Uniform	Color	Special Instructions
K-3rd	Jumper	Plaid	Must touch the top of the knee.
K-3rd	Blouses	White	Peter Pan collar blouse. No puff sleeves or piping. No printed T-shirts are to worn under the blouses. (worn with Jumper, shorts or skort)
4th-8th	Skirts	Plaid	Must touch the top of the knee. Shorts under the skirts must not fall below the skirt hemline. Slacks under the skirts may not be worn at any time.
4th-8th	Oxford Blouses	White	Button down collar, short or long sleeves (worn with skirt, pants or shorts) No printed T-shirts are to worn under the blouses. All shirts must be tucked in at all times.
K-8th	Skorts	Khaki	Plain style only. No pleats, bows, or outside pockets. No shorter than 1 inch above the knee. May worn with either the peter pan blouse (K-3) or oxford blouse (4-8) or the polo shirt.
K-8th	Pants	Khaki	Twill slacks - pleated front, no cuffs, no back pockets and no store logos. Elastic backs are permitted. May worn with either the oxford blouse or the polo shirt.
K-8th	Shorts	Khaki	Walking shorts - same guidelines as pants for styles. Shorts must be no shorter than 1 inch above the knee. May worn with either the oxford blouse or the polo shirt.
K-8th	Polo Blouses	White or Navy	Polo style cotton knit. No designs, emblems, trim or pockets. No printed T-shirts are to worn under the blouses. All shirts must be tucked in at all times. Must have 'St. James School' personalization (worn with skirt, pants or shorts)
K-8th	Sweater	Navy	With school logo embroidery or patch No labels, emblems or trims. Sleeves should be of the appropriate length.**
K-8th	Sweatshirt or Fleece	Navy	Plain with school logo embroidery or patch. No designs, store logos, emblems or trims. Sleeves should be of the appropriate length.**
K-8th	Socks/Knee-socks/Tights	White or Navy	Crew socks only . No ankle socks, no ruffles and no logos. Socks must be worn at all times.
K-8th	Hair		Must have a neat hairstyle that is off the face area. No unnatural colored haircolors. May wear only navy, white, khaki or the school plaid ribbons and hair bows or neutral barrettes.
K-8th	Jewelry		One earring per ear. Earrings should be dime-size post earrings. For safety no hoop earrings are permitted. Chains/bracelets (except medic alert) may not be worn with any uniform. A religious medal/symbol may be worn inside the shirt.
K-8th	Cosmetics		Make-up (including lipstick and mascara) is not permitted. Nail polish (except clear) and artificial nails are not permitted.
K-8th	Belts		Must be worn with shorts and pants. No wording or design on belts is permitted.
K-8th	Shoes	Light, Dark Brown or Two-Toned	(tied, Brown leather tied) only. No sneakers or high tops are permitted. Any exceptions to this should be requested with a doctor's note each year.
	Required Uniform for Field Trips, Performances		K-3rd - Plaid jumper, pants or skort with white Peter Pan blouse (short or long sleeved). No shorts. 4th-8th - Plaid skirt, pants or skort and navy polo or white oxford blouse. No shorts. Exceptions to wear shorts may be granted by the administration for a special event or circumstance.

Boys with curly hair must follow the above guideline - short when curls pulled out straight.

All Students: PE Uniforms

PE Uniform is worn all day on the scheduled PE day. PE uniform is available from the Home & School - PE uniform committee.

K-8th	Fleece Sweats Winter	Navy	St. James T-shirts must be worn under the sweatshirt. The T-shirts must be tucked in at all time. Plain. No monograms, store logos, emblems, or trims. No hooded sweatshirt. Sleeves should be of the appropriate length.

*Summer Uniform - the first two and the last two months of the school year.

**School logo patches are available through Home & School - PE uniform committee.

Book bags are considered a required item in order to protect books and to ensure a more efficient transport of materials between home and school.

All articles of clothing should be labeled with the student's name. The "Lost and Found" box is located in the Home & School Room. Several times during the school year, and at the end of the school year, all unclaimed items will be donated to the Used Uniforms or the poor.

Dress Down Days:

Occasionally, as a reward or as a fundraiser, students may be given permission to forgo the uniform code. On such days appropriate attire, which reflects Christian values is expected. Clothing that is too tight, too short (more than 1" above knees), cutouts or cut-offs, logos or prints not in keeping with a Catholic environment, halter-tops, tank-tops, etc. are not acceptable. For safety reasons, no backless shoes or clogs are permitted. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disciplinary action.
