All For Our Children...
The St. James Home & School Association is a parent organization that supports the school by promoting a sense of community, providing strong communication links between the parent body and the school (administrators, teachers and trustees), and funding the H&S activities and the enhancements to the school outside of the school's budget.
Every SJS parent or guardian is automatically a member of St. James Home and School Association and as such is urged to take an active role. Each year, our parent volunteers donate more than 8000 hours of their time. They volunteer their time in classrooms, they welcome new families, they help out in the library and the lunchroom, they organize fundraisers and friendraisers, they coordinate community service projects, and they make a point of celebrating SJS faculty and staff and showing their appreciation for them. SJS parents are dedicated and talented volunteers and we would love for you to join in.

H & S Association Committees:
The H&S committees sponsor fund raising programs and provide services throughout the school year. We invite you to browse through the links to the various committees listed on this page.

H & S 2003-2004 Projects:
During the school year 2003-2004, the H&S contributed $40,000 to the school operating budget. Additionally, H&S provides funds for special projects such as:
- Monetary Christmas gifts for the teachers and staff to show support and appreciation;
- Funds to help defray the costs for staff development in Columbus, GA;
- The start of an Environmental Club (the first project will be a garden beautification);
- An addition of three permanent tether balls to the playground;
- An enhancement of the science lab's equipment and supplies;
- Co-sponsor the Journey Back in Time Pioneer Living Museum to our school
