Volunteer Service...

The volunteer commitment program in place at St. James is a vital part of the operation of our school. This overview should help our new families understand the Service Hours program, and serve as a reminder to our returning families.

  1. All families are required to donate fifteen (15) hours of volunteer time to St. James School. You are strongly encouraged to donate five (5) of these hours to either the Auction (fall) or the Family Fun Festival (spring).

  2. For families unable to fulfill the 15 hour commitment, there is a fee of $10 per hour. Hours are valid from June – May. This means that your hours must be completed before the last day of school. Hours are tallied in early June and bills are then sent accordingly.

  3. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR HOURS! No one will log your hours for you. You can easily log your hours on-line on the SJS web site (www.sjcs-savannahga.org) or you can enter them in the log books in the front office. If you choose, you may also record hours on a log sheet and send them through the communication envelope. Log sheets can be printed off the web site.

  4. You need not log hours above 15 hours. Once you have completed your commitment, you are DONE!

  5. Home & School Chairpersons, Coaches, and Lead Grade Parents automatically qualify for 15 hours. If you hold one of these positions, please note your position in the log book or on-line, but you need not list your hours.
